Buying plants from Surf Highway Natives

Visit the nursery

We're a small production nursery and don't have set retail opening hours, but you're very welcome to come and choose your plants in person.

Nursery visits are generally available Monday–Friday, 10am–3pm, and we can often arrange visits outside these hours, including evenings and weekends.

Please get in touch before visiting so we can make sure we're available and ready to help.

Delivery

We offer free delivery for:

Orders over $250 — New Plymouth to Ōpunake
Orders over $500 — wider Taranaki

Smaller orders can also be delivered for a fee. Just get in touch with your location and what you'd like to order and we'll work out the most practical delivery option.

Alternatively, you're welcome to arrange collection from the nursery.

Please note we currently do not have eftpos available on site, but we can accept bank tranfer or cash for in-person purchases.

Invoices for pre-arranged orders (for pick up or delivery) can be payed via bank transfer or card.

Our nursery is located at the end of a quiet rural road, with residential neighbours nearby, so we request that our customers drive cautiously when coming to visit and refrain from visiting without a prior appointment.

Terms/returns:

Payment is required prior to delivery or picking up plants.

We stand by the quality of our plants. If we deliver plants that are not of high quality, please let us know within 24 hours of delivery and we will organise collection and a refund of your order.

We grow plants in full sun and exposed conditions so we know we have done our best to provide healthy, hardy plants.

In saying this, once plants are in the ground we are unable to offer refunds for plants that have been planted and have subsequently died. Plant survival depends on local conditions, planting technique, watering and ongoing care which are factors outside of our control.
